Growing up in South Africa, Gavin was fascinated by the bush and its ecosystems and wanted to become a conservationist.  However, the lure of computers and programming proved too strong and he studied Information Systems, Economics and Strategic Management.

Gavin is a change delivery expert with international experience across Finance, Energy, Insurance, Utilities, Paper and Mining industries. He has delivered global initiatives, with multi million pound budgets, at clients including HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, Shell and BP. He has deep insight into all aspects of change delivery gathered while at Accenture and as an independent consultant in Europe and Africa.

In 2012 he moved to rural France with his family to restore an old farm, which rekindled his passion for conservation and started him down a path exploring sustainable solutions and circular economies.

After 15 years of consulting he has joined hiveonline ApS as the Chief Sustainability Officer and is delivering mobile and blockchain enabled solutions addressing real world problems in developing countries.

Gavin is an investor in, and adviser to, TheGatheringTree, a food security, waste reduction and social networking application that enables urban agrarians to trade surplus produce.

He is also passionate about local currencies, circular economies and other forms of sustainable living.
