Jonathan Akinwale obtained a degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development from the Nigerian premier university - University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria in 2016. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Communication Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, Nigeria. Prior joining the employment of FUTA in 2016, Jonathan had at different points partnered with relevant actors to initiate linkages, interaction and learning among farmers along commodities value chains in some selected states in Nigeria.

With his participation in the first Africalics PhD Academy in 2012, Jonathan’s research interests have focused on innovation studies as it relate to agricultural value chains and food security. He has published a good number of research articles in reputable local and international journals. He is a member of Global Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems (GLOBELICS), Rural Sociological Association of Nigeria (RuSAN) among others.
