Mr Mohale Rakgate is the Group Executive: Project Preparation Division, at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). This role involves leading a team of experts and professionals to prepare projects from conceptual stages to financial close or implementation. This function is key to unlocking Africa’s full socio-economic potential through infrastructure development.

The DBSA achieves this by collaborating and partnering with Regional Economic Communities, Governments, State Owned Companies, other Development Finance Institutions and Project Preparation Facilities, and the Private Sector.

Mohale is also responsible for DBSA’s climate finance activities which include accreditation to access concessional funding from entities such as the Green Climate Fund and Global Environmental Facility in order to support the development of infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining DBSA in 2007, Mohale was an investment professional with the International Finance Corporation based in Washington DC, working on infrastructure projects in various regions of the developing world.
