With an academic degree in international relations Titia Wouters started her career at the Dutch Enterprise Agency, supporting the countries of Central and Eastern Europe with their accession to the European Union. There, the introduction with the water world started. She worked for over 12 years in different management positions at Rijkswaterstaat (the agency responsible for the main waterway network in the Netherlands). She developed the international strategy and advised Minister and State Secretary on international affairs. Late 2013 she joined IHE Delft Institute for Water Education as Programme Manager of VIA Water, the programme that supports 60 innovative solutions for urban water issues in Africa. Since January 2018, VIA Water moved to Aqua for All, where Titia is now employed.
